STUDIO I

PROJECT 1 // Self-Expression Through Object "Representing Me"
This ice-breaking design project is an introduction of the basic methods and approaches in generation of ideas and conceptual narratives. This shall be achieved through the exploration and creative representation of one self. Students will be exposed to various means of exploring ideas by translating it through an expression on various art forms designed for the studio work, based on student's personalities.

To succeed this project, we have to select a "Pokemon" and design an artwork based on its preferences, attitude, interests, personalities.
PROJECT 2 // Self Expression through Architectural Space ‘Small Shelter’
The main aim of Project 2 is to expand the interpretation of the users by exploring the relationships between human body and designed form. The students as the users will define the intention of the space and its form based on certain personality traits and human body.

In a group of 3 members, we are required to create a shelter that is sufficient for other members (3 persons) to stay for a night. Besides, we need to figure out the function of the shelter that based on the basic anthropometry.
PROJECT 3 // Dreamspace for the User ‘SPACE FOR THE SELF’
Project 3 incorporates both the creativity and its functionality; identity of user, comfortability of user and creativity in articulating the space, as a complete user experience.

For the final project, we are required to design a space for the self by attaching it to the walls/surfaces of an imagined ‘city’ in an empty abandoned lot in between two buildings. The space is to fit a specific use as a dream space. As the user of the space we can make our personality more interesting, an effective well thought of theme and written narrative is essential.
The unique part of this project is giving us a chance to understand ourselves. Based on our characteristics to develop the design.
REFLECTION
Studio I helped me to learn a lot of things, it gave me a platform to show my passion. Besides, it gave me a chance to communicate with others to exchange my idea and learn something new.
